Pet owners should be aware of fireworks on Saturday night

During Knox Festival on Saturday 4 March, a fireworks display will be set off at Wally Tew Reserve, Ferntree and the council has sent a notice recommending pet owners are prepared.

The fireworks are scheduled for between 9.55pm and 10.01pm.

“Loud noises from fireworks displays can easily frighten pets. Out of panic, they may try to run away from the explosive sounds, and injure themselves in the process,” Knox City Council said.

“Pet owners are recommended to keep pets indoors before and during the fireworks display. This will prevent pets from hurting themselves outside, and running away from home.”
