Knox City Council has thanked its residents for their patience as they roll out the new bin lids.
“It has been a big job changing nearly 45,000 lids and we have changed most of them but we know there are more to do,” the council said.
Residents can register their details online so the council can arrange for the red bin lid to be changed if it was missed.
“We have already received a large number of requests and we thank you for your patience.”
It may take up to six to eight weeks to change the bin lids.
People should register their details online if they have not done so yet.
“You will receive a text message or phone call from our waste team advising you on the day before to put your bin out on the nature strip so that the bin lid can be changed over.”
