Spring is finally here! We are celebrating our amazing native animals and plants throughout September, especially the endangered ones.

There are lots of things to do to get involved during Biodiversity Month, including Environmental friends group working bee, watch a webinar on our waterways, visit the Boronia open garden, photograph native animals and plants to upload to iNaturalist, or explore your local bushland reserve.

Get involved with the Biodiversity Blitz throughout September, by visiting your local bushland reserves and take photos of any native animals and plants you spot.

Upload your snaps to the iNaturalist app to add to the biodiversity count for Knox.

Locals can also join a local environmental groups at their latest working bee, including Friends of Glenfern Green Wedge on Sunday 3 September, 9 am – 11 am, Friends of Koolunga Native Reserve on Saturday 9 September, 10 am – 12 pm, Friends of Blind Creek Billabong on Tuesday 12 September, 10 am – 12 pm, Friends of Old Joes Creek on Thursday 21 September, 9 am – 11 am or Friends of the Gully on Saturday 23 September, 10 am – 12 pm.

At the working bee you will help to revegetate degraded bushland by planting indigenous trees and shrubs, observe and record local wildlife, supporting local citizen science projects, help restore animal habitats, help reduce the impact of invasive species by removing non-native plants and support your local community volunteer group.
