Have your say on Gilbert Park

We want to hear your thoughts on a wetland proposed at Gilbert Park, as part of a Masterplan endorsed in 2018.

The proposed wetland will be situated on the western side of the park, with no interference to the existing Skate Park.

It will be funded through Council’s Capital Works Program at an estimated cost of $450K.

The development aims to offer a range of benefits, including diverting runoff from Council’s stormwater system to improve water quality, enhancing biodiversity by providing new habitat for native animals and plants, creating a modern platform overlooking both the Skate Park and new wetland for visitors to enjoy, and extending a walking path for visitors to utilise through the reserve.

To ensure the park’s enhancement aligns with the community, we invite you to view the proposed wetland.

To share your feedback, leave your feedback online, attend council’s in-person drop-in sessions to held at the reserve from 1.00pm – 2.00pm on Tuesday 26 September or 5.30pm – 6.30pm on Tuesday 10 October.

Feedback will close Tuesday 17 October 2023.
