Everybody needs good neighbours

As part of the Knox Empowering Communities Program, project ‘Neighbours, Connecting and Belonging’, was announced by Knox City Council as one of the final grant recipients to tackle local issues that impact on crime and safety in Ferntree Gully.

Ahead of Neighbour Day (31 March 2024), the Knox Empowering Communities Action Group working on the project are calling local residents in Ferntree Gully who are interested in hosting a small get together with their neighbours to express their interest.

The event will be entirely catered for – with food and activities supplied and delivered free of charge, using local suppliers.

Knowing your neighbours and having positive connections with those living around us has been proven to increase general wellbeing, reduce isolation and improve safety.

The aim of the project is to work towards a community that embeds just that.

For more information on the project, visit Empowering Communities.

For any questions, you can contact the Knox Empowering Communities team on 9298 8240 or at empoweringcommunities@knox.vic.gov.au.

We look forward to reviewing your application!
