Council to collect live Christmas trees in Knox

Festivities are over, and you may be wondering what to do with your live Christmas tree.

As part of Knox City Council’s fortnightly bundled branch service, the council will collect live Christmas trees to turn into compost.

You can chop your live Christmas tree up to 1.5m in length and 30cm in bundled diameter once tied with natural string/twine.

People are advised not to use plastic/synthetic twine as it clogs up the shredder. There is a maximum weight of 30kg, Multiple bundles are permitted.

Any untied bundles or branches (single or multiple) will not be collected.

People are also advised to ensure bundles are put out before 6am on the collection day. Bundled branches are collected on the same day each fortnight as household rubbish bins.

If your bundled waste collection is missed, you are able to call the council’s Customer Service team on 9298 8000.

For more information or to check the collection day, visit Bundled branch collections.
