Belgrave CFA’s misfunctioning siren

Belgrave South CFA remain diligent as regular monthly checks have revealed that the unit siren is not working at the moment.

The unit posted to social media that their regular siren check did ‘exactly the thing that we test for…It didn’t work’.

The CFA stated they haven’t had many calls recently, and the few they have had have been during the “silent siren” hours, so they were not aware the siren wasn’t working.

The unit stated via the post that this also means that the Community Alert Siren is possibly not working either.

In the meantime, community can:

Download the VicEmergency App

Check the CFA website for any incidents in the area.

If it seems that something might be going on, tune your radio to 774ABC Melbourne

The paging system is still working so fire fighters will be notified if you need them.
