Over a week after being first reported missing, Kallista man Zak has been found ‘safe and well’ this morning on Thursday 9 May.

Police notified media this morning that the young man has been found.

“We would also like to thank media and members of the public for their assistance,” they said.

The search for missing Kallista man Zak expanded after new information came to light overnight on Monday 6 May, lending officers and volunteers on the ground new hope in the search for the 22 year old.

A heavy presence of friends and family online also formed a Facebook group with updates on any news of the young man.

Zak was last seen Norton Road, Kallista, on the evening of 28 April and initially police believe he may have gone walking in the Sherbrooke Forest in the early morning of 29 April.

Zak he has a medical condition and his disappearance was out of character, police, SES and CFA combed through arduous terrain in the national forest in the last week looking for him, concerned for his welfare.
