Sassafras has become the site of a landslide today after overnight rainfall saw the Yarra Ranges get flooding across the region with roads closed and trees down all over the shire.
The landslide happened at Mount Dandenong Tourist Road/Mason Grove in Sassafras.
SES media said that Emerald Unit volunteers attended a reported landslide at Mt Dandenong Tourist Road this morning.
“They assessed the scene before handing it to VicRoads,” said the SES representative.
Vic Emergency has posted to social media at 1.57pm that emergency services are on the scene and traffic management is in place.
People are advised to stay informed and to stay away from the area.
The slope may continue to move for hours or days afterwards.
