The wet-forecast has hit parts of the Dandenong Ranges and the Hills in the past few days with the State Emergency Service (SES) receiving hundreds of calls for help.
There were many reports of fallen trees and Riverine flooding in most parts of the Outer East, and in other areas across the Hills including Emerald, Clematis, and Kalorama power outages were being experienced.
An AusNet spokesperson said two large trees were the cause of outages which occurred in Emerald and Clematis this week.
“In Emerald a large tree fell on a power line on Monday at 10.45am, taking around 1200 customers off supply – the majority of customers had their power restored by 12.49pm,” they spokesperson said.
“In Clematis, a tree brought down the power line, with 168 customers without power from 8.16pm on Monday, power was restored by 1.53pm on Tuesday.”
The spokesperson said in Kalorama, there were no outages reported in their system.
An SES spokeperson said there were no injuries, or persons trapped – most of them have all been cleared.
