Upwey residents are experiencing a small power outage on the morning of 25 July after a tree branch fell on a power line.
A CFA spokesperson said that CFA responded to reports of a sparking transformer at around 3.25am on Morris Road in in Upwey.
“Two CFA units from Belgrave and Upwey attended the scene, and the relevant power company were called,” they said.
“Crew discovered a gumtree branch leaning on live power lines on both low voltage and high voltage lines.”
“The incident was deemed under control at 3.32am and deemed safe at 3.41am.”
An Ausnet media spokespeople said that there is a crew and tree clearers currently on site.
“We anticipate power will be restored to the 279 customers currently offline by 3pm this afternoon,” they said.
