New dog park announced for Wantirna

Knox residents have been invited to have their say on the Wantirna Reserve Dog Park and Playground by 23 August.

Wantirna Reserve a diverse hub of recreational activities will now be home to Knox’s latest agility dog park and playground.

The project is part of the Wantirna Reserve Masterplan and was endorsed by Knox City council in March this year.

Phase one implementation has begun and the council are inviting residents to share feedback on the proposed design of the dog park and playground before Friday 23 August 2024.

Aimed to create a safe, enjoyable and inclusive environment where families, children and dog owners can come together and enjoy the outdoors, the new agility dog park and upgraded playground have been designed to foster a sense of community, promote physical activity, and enhance the overall recreational experience at Wantirna Reserve.

Plans also include upgrading the existing car park near the playground, ensuring accessible parking.

This project is part of the Victorian Government’s New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program

Residents are invited to a drop-in session to share their feedback in-person, join council for breakfast on Saturday 17 August, 8 am – 11 am at the Koomba Park shared path by the Wantirna Reserve hockey pitch

Alternatively, register to join us online via Zoom on Wednesday 21 August, 6 pm – 7 pm

For further questions on the project, contact our Strategic Open Space Planning team at OpenSpace@knox.vic.gov.au.

This project is supported by the Victorian Government through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.
