Yarra Ranges has advised residents via social media that due to the recent and ongoing severe weather, some waste collections have been affected, and normal collection times may not be possible in certain areas.

“Our drivers are working hard to reach all residents where it’s safe. Residents can utilise the weekly FOGO bins for the smaller leaf litter material. We thank you for your patience during this time.,” the post said.

Many areas across Yarra Ranges are also without power.

Community Links in Upwey, Yarra Junction Monbulk, Healesville and Lilydale are operating as usual and available for charging phones and other essentials.

You can also visit www.outagetracker.com.au and follow AusNet Facebook page for further information about power outages across Yarra Ranges.

Please drop council if you have noticed any council trees down over footpaths, roads, or council reserves.

There is also a significant number of calls to the Victoria State Emergency Service line on 132 500. If you need emergency assistance for storm damage or flooding, please be patient and stay on the line.

If there is a threat to life, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
