Exciting events for seniors in the Hills

As part of this year’s Victorian Seniors Festival, celebrating the valuable contribution older Victorians make to our local community throughout the month of October, some awesome events happening in Hills region.

This year’s theme is ‘explore, engage, evolve’, inspiring older Victorians to embrace their curiosity and remain engaged through trying new activities, forming new relationships and reshaping their perspectives on ageing.

The festival will have thousands of free and low-cost events across the state, including in Mildura with events hosted by local community organisations and the local city council.

A day on the bowling green:

Enjoy a day filled with fun and friendship and a bit of bowling thrown in. Morning tea on arrival at 10am, light lunch provided. Head out to the bowling green for a roll up. Experienced bowlers will be available to show guests the finer points of lawn bowls. At noon head into the clubrooms for a light lunch and some conversation.

Laughter Yoga and Meditation:

Join Lynette, from the Ferntree Gully Laughter Club, for a unique and fun workshop. This is a unique way of relieving stress and finding inner peace through the power of laughter – a workshop designed to help you unwind, relax and let go of the stress and tension of everyday life. Through a series of playful exercises, Lynette will help you tap into your inner child and find your sense of humour.

Where: 425 Burwood Hwy, Westfield Knox – Above Rebel Sport in Wantirna.

When: 17 October 2-3pm.

Knox Senior Dance:

Get ready to hit the dance floor and enjoy an afternoon with The High Street Boys band as they play your favourite tunes from the 50’s and 60’s, light refreshments will also be provided, payment can be made in-person or over the phone.

Where: Rowville Community Leisure Centre, 40 Fulham Road, Rowville.

When: 25 October 1.30pm – 4pm.
