Almost 5000 Hyundai cars recalled

Almost 5000 Hyundai cars have been recalled due to an issue with the fuel pump.

4781 2020 to 20323 Kona N (OS), i30 Sedan N (CN7) and a further 216 2017 to 2023 GENESIS G70 (IK) 2.0T model cars are affected.

Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel control valve in the high-Pressure fuel pump could allow excess fuel to enter the pump. If this occurs, the engine could stall resulting in a sudden loss of motive power whilst driving.

A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing by Genesis Motor Australia (GMA), asking them to schedule an appointment to have the fuel pump inspected and replaced if required, free of charge.
