Driver crashes near King Henry’s

Two young women have emerged with injuries after a late night car accident overnight in Sassafrass on 10 March saw them come off road and collide with a pole in the early hours of Monday morning.

The accident occurred near the well-known King Henry’s restaurant, along the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road.

A police media spokesperson confirmed that a car crashed into a pole just after 1.30 am.

“The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” they said.

A representative from Ambulance Victoria said they responded to calls about an incident in Sassafras at around 1:35 am.

“Two women in their 20s were both transported by road to Maroondah Public Hospital in stable condition,” they said.

“One, after being treated for upper body injuries and the other after being treated for lower body injuries.”
