Frosty and wet weekend for the Dandenongs and Yarra Valley

A chilly and wet start to the weekend is on the cards across the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley.

People should prepare for a wet and chilly Saturday, with BoM forecasters predicting a high chance of showers throughout the day.

Residents of Mount Dandenong and the surrounds can expect a low of 7°C and a high of 9°C, with showers likely throughout the morning and afternoon.

Across the valley, temperatures in Yarra Glen expected to range between 6°C and 13°C, with rainfall totals between 1 and 9 mm.

Region-wide there’s a 90% chance of rain and skies will remain cloudy and winds will be light.

Sunday will see conditions ease slightly on with lows of between 1°C – 3°C and a top of 10°C – 14°C, the day will be partly cloudy, with only a slight 20% chance of a shower.

Light winds will become southeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h, easing off again by afternoon.

Keep the umbrella handy for Saturday, but Sunday should bring some brief, dry relief. Stay warm!
