Damaging winds across Yarra Ranges today

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued a warning for damaging winds across the Yarra Ranges and the state.

The warning was issued at 10.59am 8 July which said northwesterly winds had increased ahead of a cold front crossing Victoria today, bringing damaging winds to parts of the state and blizzards to alpine areas.

For The Grampians, Central Ranges and parts of the Mornington Peninsula, peak winds gusts in excess of 90 km/h are possible early afternoon, easing thereafter.

Both hazards are expected to ease below warning thresholds this evening.

The next weather warning will be issued by 5pm.
