A driver yet to be identified has lost their life in the outer east of Melbourne yesterday, as an investigation has been launched by police.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Ferntree Gully that occured on the afternoon of Wednesday 10 July.
Emergency services were called to reports a Toyota Landcruiser and Volvo sedan had collided on Burwood Highway, near Glenfern Road, about 5.50pm.
The driver and sole occupant of the Volvo, who is yet to be formally identified, was transported to hospital where they later died.
The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota was transported to hospital for observation.
The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
