Severe winds for Yarra Ranges

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a warning for severe winds and blizzard conditions for Victoria today, 21 July.

The winds will affect parts of the Yarra Ranges and gusts of around 90 km/h are possible from late Monday evening to Tuesday morning.

A strong northerly flow ahead of an approaching cold front is expected to produce damaging winds throughout the Great Dividing Range from late Monday evening, as well as the for northern suburbs of Melbourne, Otways and Surf Coast from early Tuesday morning.

Blizzard conditions are forecast for areas above 1600 metres from late Tuesday morning.

The next weather warning will be issued at 5pm.
