Rotary Bingo night raises support for Knox Nocturnals youth program

People hit the floor for the youth of Knox recently for a lively night of bingo with fun, prizes and community spirit on the agenda.

Friday 15 August saw the Rotary Club of Ferntree Gully and Bayswater host Bingo Night at the Senior Citizens Hall to support the Knox Nocturnals Youth Program.

Member of the Rotary Club of Rowville-Lysterfield, Stephen Palamara, said the event drew a strong crowd with over 65 attending.

“There was plenty of fun had on the night, and it was all in aid of a valuable local initiative,” he said.

The Knox Nocturnals Youth Program is a social inclusion initiative designed for young people aged 12 to 18 who live, study, work, volunteer, or have strong ties to the Knox area.

“It provides a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where young people of all abilities can connect, build friendships, and feel supported,” said Mr Palamara.

With a mission to empower young individuals to discover their potential and develop a strong sense of community—regardless of their background or abilities – the program plays a vital role in ensuring local youth feel engaged and valued.

Following the success of this event, Mr Palamara said Rotary is excited to announce that the next Bingo Night will be held on Friday 5 September, once again at the Senior Citizens Hall.

“Everyone is welcome to come along,” he said.

The night of entertainment will help raise funds for a program that makes a difference in the lives of young people in Knox.
