Banks closed nationwide on Australia Day

All banks across Australia will be closed on Monday, 26 January, in observance of Australia Day.

Customers are encouraged to plan ahead, as in-branch services will be unavailable for the public holiday.

ATMs, online banking, and mobile banking services are expected to remain operational, although some transactions may be processed on the next business day.

In addition, some community bank branches may remain closed on Tuesday, 27 January, due to extreme heat conditions. Under its safety policy, branches in Victoria may close during severe weather events in line with emergency warnings.

Customers are advised to check with their local branch before travelling to confirm whether it is open.

Normal banking services are expected to resume once conditions allow.
