Broadway favourites go cabaret

By Casey Neill
HEAR Broadway favourites performed like never before, in a unique cabaret show.
reWorks will hit Burrinja as part of the Midsumma Festival, Melbourne’s annual gay and lesbian festival.
Tunes from Wicked, Westside Story, Les Miserables, Cabaret and more will all be transformed.
The Cats ballad Memory becomes a sassy jazz number, while Rent’s One Song Glory moves from rock hit to opera gem.
The show will feature a full cabaret bar with fine food and wine.
Amateur and professional theatre regulars Ruth Bishop, Sally McKenzie and Angela Lumicisi will perform reWorks at 8pm on Saturday 7 February and 4pm on Sunday 8 February.
Burrinja is located at 351 Glenfern Road, Upwey.
Tickets are $21. Bookings can be made at www.midsumma. org.au.
