Meet Sergeant Sensible

Sergeant Sensible knows a thing or two about staying safe on public transport.

With the event season in full swing, here are four sensible things you can do to keep safe:

– Take care when boarding trams and trains. Stand behind the yellow line and mind the gap between the platform and the train.

– Keep your belongings on you. If you lose or have an item stolen, you can make a report online at police.vic.gov.au/palolr or call 131 444.

– Report anti-social behaviour on public transport – text STOPIT to 0499 455 455.

– Say hello to our PSOs – they’re at 220 train stations across Victoria.

PSOs not only patrol trains, you’ll also see them on trams and major bus interchanges day and night.

They’re there to help those in need and to deter anti-social and criminal behaviour.
