An upcoming exhibition at Emerald’s Hills Hub, titled Prism, will feature work by the local creative LGBTQIA+ community.

The exhibition will include blackout poems, character art and photographic portraiture.

Developed by lifetime shire resident, Dae Knight, Prism celebrates the incredible diversity and inclusivity of Cardinia Shire.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Tammy Radford said that showcasing the artistic talent of our local rainbow community through this exhibition is very exciting.

“Council is proud to give Cardinia Shire’s LGBTQIA+ community the opportunity to express themselves in such a creative way,” Cr Radford said.

“The exhibition title ‘Prism’ is used as a metaphor in that the exhibition is a prism taking the ‘light’ of Cardinia Shire and refracting it to show off a diverse rainbow of artworks by local creatives.”

Prism is proudly presented by Cardinia LGBTQIA+ and Cardinia Shire Council. The exhibition will be on display in the arts space from Monday 13 February to Friday 10 March 2023 on weekdays between 10am and 1pm.
