Three cheers for All Stars

DANCERS Edge and Cheerleading Victoria have united to present the All Star squad that will compete at the cheerleading world championships next year.
In April 2007, the All Stars will be the first Australian representation at the Cheerleading World titles in Florida, USA.
Cheerleading at Dancers Edge in Wantirna has taken off under the coaching of Rosemary Sims and Debbie Inkster, who train all the students in the art of dance.
The Cheerleading Victoria syllabus has been running at Dancers Edge for the last five years and is the perfect preparation to become an All Star dancer.
Ms Sims said hundreds of cheerleaders from Dancers Edge have entertained crowds at stadiums and professional sporting clubs.
She said some of the cheerleaders over the last 20 years have performed at MBL basketball, professional netball and AFL matches.
Dancers Edge has produced winners who have taken the Victorian Cheerleading Championship in all age group and categories.
Getting ready for the world titles, Ms Sims said Dancers Edge would do its best to represent Australia, but that the country has a long way to go to catch up with the United States, Europe and Asia.
Ms Sims said that any sponsorship would also we welcomed by the squad.
“Your exposure will be endless over the next 15 months at all of our major sporting events, at the New Zealand All Star championships, and in the USA – our cheerleaders are out there everywhere,” she said.
