Back to front day

HILLS primary school students had good reason to look a little silly earlier this month.
Kallista Primary School raised more than $150 for its Thai sponsor-child with a back to front dress up day on 3 April.
Kids donned backwards pyjamas, inside-out hats and forward-facing pony tails to raise cash for Anucha and his community.
The school has supported the young boy for the past six years.
“This is a predominantly Anglo-Saxon area,” principal Barbara Rose said.
“It’s important to develop understanding and respect for other cultures.”
Upwey Primary School became a sea of red and yellow to support local fire heroes on 3 April.
Students donated a gold coin to wear fire hats and braces to support the Upwey CFA.
The Junior School Council organised fire safety activities and mock fire fighting experiences and raised $125.
“The money will be donated in recognition and appreciation of their outstanding commitment and service to the Upwey community, especially in response to the recent bushfire threat in Upwey,” principal Malcolm Aspinall said.
