BELGRAVE Heated Outdoor Pool has introduced new programs for the summer so everyone can cool off as the weather heats up.
The introductions include term based swim lessons after school starting in mid-January, aqua aerobics on Monday nights and a variety of daytime sessions.
The January Giant Pool Party is on Wednesday 18 January from 1pm to 4pm, and centre manager Aylie Spence says birthday pool parties have been very popular, too.
“Many patrons believe we have the best pool in Victoria – sparkling water, friendly staff, great atmosphere,” she said.
The centre recently took out first place in the Play it Safe by the Water campaign’s Water Safety Week contest to find the best video showcasing ways to increase people’s awareness of water safety, develop their water safety skills, and encourage them to always play it safe by the water.
Its humorous short video featuring a rhyme about teaching kids water safety, CPR and surf rescue was announced as the best in Victoria at Federation Square on 5 December.
Olympic swimming champion Michael Klim presented the team with an automatic pool vacuum for their efforts.
The prize will come in handy with a 33-metre heated pool and small toddler/splash pool to look after.
The centre also has a kiosk with range of hot food, cold drinks, ice creams and merchandise, and an extensive grassed area.
It also boasts a great family atmosphere, open fresh air, and activities to suit the whole family with new programs always on the way.
Belgrave Heated Outdoor Pool is on the corner of Best Street and Blair Road in Belgrave and is open 6am to 7.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 6pm weekends and public holidays. Call 9754 2743.
