TECOMA’S fight against McDonald’s will have its first day in court this month.
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) will hold a practice hearing date for the matter on Friday 30 March.
The hearing will consider how the matter will proceed and whether any additional parties should be included, receive any amended plans or witness reports, and make any further orders regarding the full hearing.
The full hearing is set to start on Monday 6 August and continue for five days.
McDonald’s announced just days before Christmas that it would challenge Yarra Ranges Council’s decision to refuse its planning application for a Burwood Highway store in Tecoma.
The council received more than 1000 formal objections to the development based mainly on traffic and neighbourhood character concerns. VCAT has received more than 300 objections.
