TERTIARY education will remain at Lilydale, according to the State Government.
This morning in Lilydale, the Higher Education and Skills Minister Peter Hall repeated the government’s commitment to have vocational and higher education delivered at Swinburne’s Lilydale campus.
Mr Hall said they had been engaged in very productive discussions with Swinburne University and the Shire of Yarra Ranges about the future use of the facilities.
“It is important that the future of the site is planned carefully to deliver both educational and civic benefits to the community. It is crucial that the site be sustainable, relevant and meet the needs of local communities and businesses,” Mr Hall said.
Mr Hall announced the government would provide the Yarra Ranges Council with a $100,000 to develop and implement a strategy for the site.
