THE Mount Evelyn Station House was launched this month, with new and improved opening hours and programs for the community.
The launch marks the start of longer library hours and at least 10 hours a week of programs and activities for locals to enjoy.
Yarra Ranges councillor Maria McCarthy said it would be a wonderful asset to the community.
“The longer library hours ensure that the Mount Evelyn community is now able to access the Station House more frequently than ever before, making reading and other forms of learning more accessible for our residents,” she said.
“It may be borrowing a book, using a computer free of charge or simply receiving all types of advice from the friendly Morrison’s staff.
“And, of course, with the changes to the Station House members can now come and borrow a book and enjoy a coffee at the Morrison on the Park Cafe.
“What I place great importance on is the fact that the Mt Evelyn Station House is a place for everyone to be able to connect with their community.”
The Station House is now open from 8.30am to 5pm, seven days a week.
