Two in a row for Monbulk

MONBULK Cricket Clubs (MCC) under 15s, 13s and 12s cricket teams all played another one-dayer over the weekend, with some great results and exciting finishes.
The under 15s played at home against Mazenod where Monbulk made 4/103, with Travis Wills and Aaron Gillard both retiring on 25.
Mazenod needed nine runs from the last over, but finished up on 5/100, giving the Monbulk boys their second win from two games.
The under 13s who are now merged with Knoxfield to form the Hawks and Knights also had a great win.
Johnson Park made 4/78 before the Monbulk boys compiled 2/87 with Tam Noonan and Jayden both retiring and the team also won their first two games.
Playing at home on Friday night against Eildon Park, the under 12s also had an exciting finish.
Eildon Park made 5/87 with Sage Farmer taking 2/5.
Monbulk fell short by five runs, making 4/82 with Rab Nooan, Josh Spencer and Ben Grimes all retiring.
Monbulk’s new under 10 team are continuing to train hard for their first match on Friday 8 November.
Rab Noonan and Josh Spencer have been selected to trial for the FTGDCA under 12 team and Aaron Gillard and Daniel Cleary have also been selected in the under 12 represent Hatch teams.
Monbulk’s successful Milo in2Cricket program is also back for another season.
This program is for all kids, aged five to nine, and is run from 5.45pm to 6.45pm on a Friday night, starting on 8 November.

The MCC will also be hosting the sixth Monbulk Fun Run on Sunday 10 November with four and eight kilometre events that both start and finish at the Monbulk Cricket Ground.
