The Monbulk Cricket Club held another successful Ladies Day last Saturday, gaining some extra special media coverage.
The lunch was filmed by Chanel 10’s ‘What’s Up Downunder’ as a McGrath Breast Cancer Special.
The log cabin looked great dressed up in pink with all the girls enjoying the entertainment from Frankie J Holden.
On the field, Daniel Clark got into the spirit of Pink Stumps Day by making his maiden century with 102 in the seconds.
The twos made a gallant 288 chasing Knox Gardens 300.
The ones also could not chase down Knox Gardens 169, making 140 in their Pink Stumps One Day match.
In contrast Monbulk’s five Junior teams all won.
The Under 15s beat top side The Basin by one run on the last ball with Captain Aaron Gillard retiring again on 25.
Hamish Emmett made 16 and Daniel Cleary took 2/2.
The Under 13s had a big win making 3/260 with Michael Hill and Tam Noonan both retiring.
The Under 12s made 9/108 to beat Upper Ferntree Gully’s 9/85 with Ben Grimes making 16 and Campbell Dennison and Sage Farmer both taking three wickets.
The new Under 10 team has now split into two teams and both won their Big Bash clash on Friday night.
