ALTHOUGH the Sherbrooke Suns will be down four of their starting five players, the team is confident they can rebuild.
Losing the players due to age restrictions, the Sherbrooke Suns Youth Champ Men side are looking forward to a positive 2014 year according to coach Rob Roberts.
Mr Roberts said with the re-signing of new joint captains Kirk Smith and Elias Kafrouni the team will stay competitive.
“We are definitely small, but what we lack in height, we more than make up for in effort,” he said.
“We are lucky that we have held onto young big Elias Kafrouni and Johno Truman who are both only 19 and have great potential.
“We have a couple of guys like Kirk Smith and Cam Greenwood who played minutes in Champion Men’s competition last year to take control as leaders in the number one spot.”
Mr Roberts said you can’t make inroads without adding a few good heads to a side and although players Dan Mareels and Matt Norton are untried at this level it will bring flair to the game.
“These guys have worked really hard in the pre-season and have proven they have what it takes to play with the big boys,” he said.
Mr Roberts said the team is looking forward to a break over the Christmas season and returning fit and fresh in January ready for 2014.
