AVON ladies from around the hills are coming together for Avon’s Breast Cancer Crusade.
Avon district sales manager Dee Spark said Avon is the world’s number one supporter of the fight against breast cancer having donated more than $780 million.
“We are proud to be the largest corporate supporter globally,” she said.
“In Australia and New Zealand Avon representatives have raised over $11.7 million through sales of our Pink Ribbon products – 100 per cent of profits from these items go towards breast cancer research and patient support programs.
“Local Avon women from around our local district of Ferntree Gully, Boronia, Upwey and the Belgrave area are coming together – it’s just one way that we can do something for the community.”
Ms Spark said breast cancer effects not only the person fighting the disease but the entire family and Avon is dedicated to helping in any way it can.
“Our Avon representatives donate their time to hosting the Breast Cancer stands in our communities,” she said.
“With the support of shops donating their space we are able to reach out to the community for their continued support.
“One in 10 women will be diagnosed with the disease and breast cancer is the most common cancer for women.”
