Scott more than a match for this gang

A GANG of golfers at Emerald Golf Club last Saturday played a 4BBB match play round.
Also a small but talented band of members fronted up for a round of par.
Ian Scott (29) blitzed the field to sashay in with +6 on his card. He stood atop the podium with the victory over B Grade and the entire field.
In A Grade, Conrad Whitlock (16) starred with +4 to win easily. Dave Mackey (16) had +3 and Ben Balfour (19) and Dave Jennings (20) both carded +1.
Mike Litchfield won the Stockdale and Leggo nearest the pin on the fourth, Dave Mackey the seventh, Jeff Isherwood the 12th, Steve Town the 13th and Litchfield also pocketed the cash on the pro pin 18th.
Wednesday’s Overly Faded Golf (OFG) was a 4BBB par event.
After all the bad language, slices and hooks there were three groups tied for the major gong – all locked on +9.
These pairs were Dennis Fuller and Ken Hill, Kevin Miller and Ian Scott alongside Graeme Fergus and Peter Clowes.
Two matches in the 4BBB championship took place with Ken Sumsion and Peter Glasscock accounting for Leigh Morison 2/1 while Peter Jones while Ken Hill and Peter Clowes downed Ross Martin and Steve Town 3/2.
OFG pennant was played last Thursday against Centenery Park.
Emerald won four matches to one with the points score of eight to two.
Mick Petrie won 4/3, Leigh Morison won2/1, Con Whitlock won 3/2, Peter Clowes won 5/4 while John Piggott lost 2/3 and Bob Kennedy lost 5/6.
Their next game is at Waterford Valley.
The handicap pennant team hosted Wellington link.
After a tight tussle it was Emerald that emerged victors eight points to six.
The winners were Peter Clowes, Broc Reynolds, Peter Stevens, Ross Martin and Mike Litchfield.
Dean Shannon, Steve Town and Andrew Cutting all lowered their colours to their opponents.
Next week they are at home to Yarrambat and members face off for the April VGL monthly medal.
