FOR the first time ever, Monbulk Junior Football Club has experienced registration day sign-up numbers the highest ever at this stage of pre-season.
The registration day in February resulted in the club’s combined efforts with Auskick reaching 125 children joining on the day.
Recently elected Junior Club President, Ken Beecroft said he was delighted with the strong showing and attributed it to the strong culture continuing to thrive at the club.
’’The family day atmosphere is more evidence of the importance of the whole family enjoying their involvement here at the club,” Mr Beecroft said.
The participants took full advantage of the ice-cream truck, blow-up castles, barbecue sausage sizzle and a kick of the football.
Mr Beecroft said with the Junior Football season for the Under-9s through to the Under 16s starts on 27 April, with training for some teams has already started.
“The Junior Club prides itself on its strong support of Auskick and with such a dedicated and experienced coaching structure we are looking forward to having a great season of enjoyment and development,” he said.
Both Mr Beecroft and Auskick Co-ordinator Mark Mannens stressed that it is never too late to join and more players can sign up on the very first Saturday morning of play.
The 2014 Auskick season starts on Saturday 26 April at 8.30am at the Monbulk Football Grounds.
