BROC Reynolds has done it again at the Emerald Golf Club, winning the stableford event with 42 points, following his triumph as club champion.
A young man on the way to a single-figure handicap if I am any judge of horse flesh. This gave him the over-all win and also the bragging rights over the rest of the A Graders.
The handicapper is becoming a little more than slightly interested in his generous handicap.
B Grade saw Allan Ecclestone continue his brilliant form, coming in with 41 points to eclipse Ian Scott on a countback.
Peter Clowes and Graham White both came in with 38 points to head up the rest of the field.
Greg Horrocks was nearest the pin on the 4th, Reynolds on the 7th, John Fisher the 12th, Barry Cook the 13th and Ecclestone rounded out his effort to win the pro pin on the 18th.
Wednesday’s Opulently Foppish Golf (OFG) saw a second win in two weeks for Ian Scott (24) when he led in the field with 40 points from Leigh Morison (13) on 37 while Ben Balfour(19) and John Piggott(22) both came in with 36.
Early in the year, members played for the foursomes championship, both off the stick score and the handicap.
Pairings of Ken Hill and Con Whitlock drew with Dennis Fuller and Ban Balfour when both teams came in with 81.
The play-off happened last Saturday with Fuller and Balfour coming out as narrow winners with neither team scoring nearly as well as they did in the initial encounter.
Next Saturday, member’s face off for the November VGL Medal.
