SIX out of eight wins for the Hawks highlighted a successful weekend.
Unfortunately, the 1st XI just went down again, meaning they have lost their first two games by a total of 10 runs to last year’s grand final teams.
They will be looking to bounce back in next Saturday’s Twenty20.
In the other grades, Craig Broekhof and Rick Lamers both had terrific all-round games to help the 2nd XI to a big win.
Tim Fogarty and Evan Binding put on 26 runs for the 10th wicket to sneak past The Basin in the 3rds and the young 4th XI had their first win, with Dave Williams smacking 68.
The Under 16s had a big win over The Basin with Tam Noonan making 51 not out to go along with his 48 in the 4ths.
Thomas Badgery also had a great game making 41 not out and taking 4/6 (see picture of Tam and Thomas).
The Under 14s had another close game, with Max Lamers whacking two big fours in the last over to defeat Lysterfield.
No junior games next weekend due to Melbourne Cup and Under 11s and two new Under 10s teams all start after the break on 6 November, along with the first session of Milo in2Cricket.
Next Saturday, 31 October, is an exciting day for the club.
They are hosting a Twenty20 double-header versus Belgrave (2s start at 12.30pm followed by the 1s at 3.45pm), so everyone get along and support the teams and enjoy the day.
The club is also hosting their business network lunch during the day, which will be followed by their first function.
The club cocktail party starts at 7pm with Mark Fenby playing his acoustic tracks.
