RIO Paralympics hopeful and Macclesfield paracanoeist Amanda Reynolds is seeking community help with her gold medal ambitions.
Competing at the elite level means Reynolds needs first-class equipment, so she is seeking funds to help with some costs.
For ‘AJ’ to train and compete effectively, she needs three pieces of specialised equipment, which total $57,000.
Firstly, Reynolds needs a new prosthetic leg that is built to withstand the pressure and stress that comes with an intense training schedule.
‘AJ’ also needs a wheelchair built specifically for her stature and physical requirements, along with a kayak built for elite-level competition, including this year’s Paralympics.
After she “smashed” her personal best times, and her opposition, at the recent National Championships in Perth, the paracanoeist’s performances will likely see her realise a long-held ambition to represent Australia at the Games.
