Local disability provider Melba Support Services is hosting two information forums on Saturday 15 July at 2.30pm and Thursday 20 July at 7pm.
The information will be held at the Lilydale United Church and on Anderson and George streets, Lilydale.
The forums are aimed at ensuring people with disability and their families have all the information they need to commence the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
NDIS is the new way of providing support for Australians with disability, their families and their carers.
Melba chief executive officer Glenn Foard believes the forums will be beneficial to families entering the NDIS.
“We have run information sessions previously, and we’ve provided advice to people individually,” he said.
“Those who have attended our information sessions in the past have found them helpful and reassuring.”
On the night, Melba will be explaining how the NDIS works, how people can best prepare for the NDIS and how Melba can assist families.
Mr Foard believes that families will gain benefits from choosing Melba Support Services as their disability provider.
“Over Melba’s 45-year history, we have developed a reputation for quality,” he said.
“We respect people’s rights, we treat people with dignity and we employ great staff.”
“Melba is the only disability provider in Australia to be accredited for person-centred excellence with distinction.”
If you’re interested in attending, RSVP to Melba Support Services at melba@melbasupport.com.au or phone 9212 0100.
