Total Fire Ban declared for Wednesday

A day of Total Fire Ban has been declared for central and western parts of the state tomorrow (22 January).

Regions impacted include Mallee, Wimmera, South West, Northern Country, North Central and Central (includes Melbourne and Geelong).

No fire can be lit in the open air or be allowed to remain alight in the open air between 00:01 on Wed, 22 Jan 2020 and 23:59 on Wed, 22 Jan 2020.

The Bureau of Meteorology is expecting the temperature in Melbourne to reach 32C degrees with northerly winds reaching 30 to 45 km/h early in the morning.

Winds are expected to shift colder southeast to southwesterly 25 to 35 km/h in the evening.
