headspace Knox recently unveiled renovations following a refresh to provide young people with a more inviting, inclusive and sustainable hub.

Funded by the Federal Government’s headspace Demand Management and Enhancement Program, the upgrades bring a homely touch, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere that positively resonates with young people.

headspace Knox and Lilydale Services Manager, Lara Clark, said that the renovations were informed by the valuable input of young people, who offered their preferences for the upgraded site.

“Young people are at the heart of everything we do, and by listening, these renovations are designed to meet their needs and resonate with the community we serve,” Ms Clark said.

The renovations include repainted walls, upgraded flooring, modern furnishings, vibrant plants, and a strategic reconfiguration of the consulting and group spaces.

headspace Knox has been serving local young people for the past decade, with a focus on improving the lives of young people and their families and providing vital support to those who need it most.

By updating the space, the renovated site aims to empower young people to seek help and feel confident to access services without the fear of judgment.

“A modern and inviting setting can contribute to reducing the stigma around seeking mental health support, fostering a sense of connection and comfort,” Ms Clark said.

“This rejuvenated space is designed by young people, for young people. Our team is looking forward to continuing to provide support for young people who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, or work and study advice,” she said.

headspace Knox is supported by funding from the Australian Government through the Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network and is operated by EACH.

EACH supports young people’s mental health in eastern and south-east Melbourne. As well as Knox, EACH also operates headspace sites in Pakenham, Dandenong, and Narre Warren.

headspace Knox is located at Westfield Knox, more information can be found at headspace.org.au/headspace-centres/knox/
