A fire has broken out on a property in Tecoma on Rocksleigh Avenue on Wednesday 4 December at approximately 6 pm.
The Dandenong Ranges is currently host to a multi-service emergency response as CFA units were called out to a house fire at a residence in Tecoma.
Residents and onlookers stood watching along Burwood Highway as smoke pulsed into the sky as CFA got to work and Police secured the scene, the house is believed to have noone inside.
The area had been secured as CFA fought the structure fire, some onlookers reported hearing an explosion before the fire started and the home is believed to be occupied by a well-known artist.
The house was also the site of a fire some 20 years earlier, with CFA called out in the early hours of the morning of 23 February, 2004.
VicEmergency issued a community alert at 6.48pm alerting locals in Upwey, Belgrave and Tecoma to the house fire and that both Rocksleigh Avenue and Dickinson Street in Tecoma were closed.
“There is no immediate threat to the community and no action is required,” read the alert.
The alert also stated that unless the situation changes, this will be the last message from VicEmergency issued for this fire.
