Youngsters claim close win

The Monbulk Cricket Club Under-12s side claimed victory against Knoxfield/Lysterfield after a close match on the weekend.

Batting first, Monbulk got off to a great start with Jed Fraser (22*) and Kit Sutton (17*) securing eight boundaries between them.

Despite losing some quick wickets, Monbulk made a solid score of 6/85.

In reply, Knox/Lysterfield were held to 8/76.

Best bowling performances went to Grace Hourigan with 2/1 off two overs.

Wickets also to Kit Sutton, Finn White, Noah Woning and Jed Fraser.

It was a standout performance from Kit Sutton with the gloves after he secured a stumping, a catch and a run out.
