INVESTING in the community is at the forefront for Belgrave South Baptist Church.
With Christmas on the horizon, the church is in full swing to raise money to fund their annual community Christmas carols that have been running for over 20 years.
For the past five years, under the direction of Pastor Andrew Fisher, the church has held a car boot sale to provide finance to pay for the free community Christmas carols and Mr Fisher said it is something everyone can get involved in.
“As a church we see it as something that we can do to enhance community,” Mr Fisher said.
“I think it is important for us as a church to be doing things for the community and this is just one way that we can do this.
“We are very clear that any money raised goes back into community events like the carols.”
Mr Fisher said the community really enjoys the car boot sale and there are also free activities that will be running during the morning.
“We still have a few spots that are open and the weather looks like it is going to be great,” he said.
“Everyone can come along and enjoy the fun and festivities knowing that the money they spend will be going straight back into the community for a great event.”
The car boot sale will be held in the church car park on Saturday 19 October from 8.30am to 1pm located on the corner of St Austell and Belgrave-Hallam Roads, Belgrave South.
