BELGRAVE firefighters have a brand spanking new tanker with all the latest technology – just in time for the fire season.
Captain Phil Keep said the tanker is the newest one in the Ranges Group and can carry up to 25,050 litres of water.
“It replaced our 18-year-old tanker which was a bloody good truck,” Mr Keep said.
“It fought fires back to 1997.”
The new truck has a front hose and two pumps that allow for high pressure hoses and the normal fire fighting hoses.
“You don’t get one of these too often,” he said.
“We’ve trained up the whole team on how to use it, and it’s great.”
